FAQ

Swap tuning questions

Straight answers on Holley start-up files, OEM bench flash, and St. Louis / Midwest drop-off calibration. No hype — if your combo is a fit, we’ll say so.

What do you tune?

Older vehicles with modern engine swaps and restomod EFI. Typical work: LS and other late-model power into older chassis, Holley and aftermarket stand-alone ECUs, and OEM PCM bench flash for GM Gen III–V (and other OEM platforms when it’s a fit). Late models are welcome; the niche is swap and restomod calibration.

How does a Holley start-up file work?

Submit the Get Tuned form with build details. Cam builds a start-up / base file so the engine can fire safely and sends loading instructions. That fee credits toward a full tune when you’re ready.

Do you bench flash OEM ECUs?

Yes. For factory ECUs you usually ship the unit for a bench flash start-up file. If you’re local to greater St. Louis, a local load may be possible depending on availability.

Remote vs drop-off — what’s the difference?

Start-up files and many aftermarket ECU calibrations can be remote. Full in-person calibration is drop-off (drivability, idle, cold/hot start, coast-down, safe WOT). Overnight cars are garaged. Track or dyno support is scheduled separately.

What should I send for a start-up file?

Year / make / model, engine and transmission, ECU (OEM vs Holley / other), fuel system, NA vs boost, and whether you need remote or local. Use the form — that’s the cleanest path.

How many projects do you take?

A limited number each month. That keeps each calibration hands-on instead of a queue farm.
